The Protestant Wedding Services in Italy differ from other religious ceremonies in that it is a worship service through which the will of God is served and the Lordship of Jesus is proclaimed. The attendee's are more than just guests, they are participants. You may also need to consider a civil ceremony. A Reverend will require a valid and recent civil marriage certificate prior to your Protestant Wedding Service in Italy. You can have this civil service done in your home country prior to your departure or arrange to have it done in Italy a few days in advance of your Italian wedding.

In addition, you will also be required to provide verified proof of an appropriate Baptism. This can be done with a Baptismal Certificate or certified letter from your Parish Priest. You may also be able to provide proof of Confirmation in the same way you would prove the Baptism. The last aspect of planning for your Protestant Wedding Service in Italy requires that you meet with the Priest at least two or three days prior to your wedding date.

There are times when you may have both a Bishop and a Priest performing your Protestant Wedding Service. In this case, the Bishop would pronounce the blessing and preside at the Eucharist. The assisting Priest may then deliver the charge, read from the Gospel, assist with the Eucharist or even deliver the charge.
